The Effects of Situational and Contextual Variables on Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety: An Investigation of Pakistani Tertiary EFL Students’ Perceptions

Foreign language anxiety is a type of that specific to learning process. Anxiety can not only impact the students’ negatively but it also enforce them give up their studied (Horwitz, 2017; Malik et al., 2020; Milan, 2019). In Pakistan, there lack research in field and majority teachers students are fully cognizant its existence effects on (Samad, 2014). Most previous studies have investigated from classroom perspective exploring outside (Marwan, 2017). Therefore, this study an attempt understand by investigating relation various contextual variables contribute existing body knowledge. This explored 100 BS English at University Baluchistan. It aimed investigate Pakistani tertiary EFL perceptions when speaking class class. The employed both quantitative (questionnaire) qualitative (semi-structured interview) tools collects data. findings clearly suggested experience more than suggests friendly supportive teacher, gentle error correction, relaxed social environment incorporation activities don’t require be singled out may alleviate anxiety.
